The experts at your local poison center have heard it all, from the common “I accidentally swallowed my mouthwash,” to the alarming “I think my toddler ate some of my medication.” Regardless of what you’re calling for, poison center experts are prepared, and specially trained to help, without making any personal judgments.
Poison center experts aren’t your average phone operators either. These are highly trained, highly specialized individuals with advanced health degrees in like medicine, toxicology, pharmacy and nursing. They are bound to the oaths of their fields, and they are trained in helping patients of all backgrounds and situations. With four million calls to poison centers each year, there is little that can be said to a poison center expert that he or she has not heard before.
